Currently, the instruction is only offered to kindergarten and first-grade students who take part in three thirty-minute Spanish classes each week. This program is for elementary school students and its goal is to teach them a second language at a young age. HEALTH SERVICESĮach campus has its own registered nurse who has several responsibilities such as detecting and providing nursing care for all health problems or physical conditions which impedes learning or poses a risk to optimum health, acting as a liaison among home, community agencies, physicians, or other medical personnel, and ensuring that each student has the immunizations required to attend school. ![]() The public meetings are usually held in the 5/6 assembly room inside McCulloch Intermediate School. According to the District's website, the trustees have several goals such as implementing strategies that address student participation and environment in school-related activities, maximizing the district's performance in all areas by raising the proficiency levels and continuing to hire and retain top-quality candidates for all positions. Seven men and women elected by registered voters serve on the Board of Trustees. Homes with children in these specific areas will more than likely be affected with temporary schooling options of relocating schools for a year or so while the construction is completed. The plan calls for expansions to multiple campuses - Highland Park High School, Highland Park Middle & Intermediate schools, rebuilding three existing elementary schools - Bradfield Elementary, Hyer Elementary, and University Park Elementary. This will be the first new school added to the district in almost six decades. In June of 2015, Highland Park ISD proposed a $358 million dollar bond package to overhaul all current campuses and add a new elementary school. You can drive through the town on any given day and see the Mad for Plaid signs in the yards of many of the local homes. About The Highland Park Independent School DistrictĮach year, Highland Park ISD Education Foundation and the Highland Park PTA do a fundraiser for children throughout the district called "Mad for Plaid."
